Just a reminder to join us in the library for our Kindergarten Orientation this Thursday, August 27th from 5:30 to 7:00.! This is an opportunity for our kindergarten team to meet the students and prepare for the year ahead. Students will spend time with the kindergarten teachers while parents spend time with school administration and have the opportunity to fill out some required paperwork. During this time we will review important information about drop off, lunch, and general school information, as well as the opportunity to ask questions you may have about Highland and this school year! We look forward to seeing everyone!
Welcome to Highland. I want to reach out to all of our kindergarten families to connect with you regarding the beginning of the school year. We are excited to welcome our new kindergarteners and have a number of events to help you connect with the Highland community. To start, we have Kindergarten Orientation on August 27th from 5:30 to 7:00. This is an opportunity for our kindergarten team to meet the students and prepare for the year ahead. Students will spend time with the kindergarten teachers while parents spend time with school administration and have the opportunity to fill out some required paperwork. During this time we will review important information about drop off, lunch, and general school information, as well as the opportunity to ask questions about the school.
The following day on the 28th, our PTA hosts a kindergarten playdate at our playground from 2:15-3:00 PM. This is a great opportunity for families and students to connect.
Our last big event for our kindergarten families is our "Boo Hoo" Breakfast, again hosted by our PTA on the first day of school, September 3rd. This is an optional event, but encouraged if possible for all kindergarten families. Parents will bring their students to the school at 8:45 and we will host families in the gym for a short breakfast before our kindergarten teachers bring students to class. This is a special moment for you to share with your students if you can.
We look forward to seeing families at our Kindergarten Orientation on the 27th at 5:30.
Thanks,
Tim Larney, Principal
