March

Highland Families,

We’ve officially crossed the halfway mark of the year—can you believe it? While spring still feels just out of reach here at Highland, we had a wonderful February together. Earlier this month, Mrs. Tellier hosted our annual PBIS Snowball Toss, which brought lots of laughter and excitement to our school. We’re also incredibly proud of our boys’ and girls’ basketball teams for their impressive playoff performances. Our student athletes showed real growth, determination, and sportsmanship! A special thank you goes out to Coach B and all our parent volunteers who make our basketball program possible.

Just before break, we celebrated the 100th day of school—a big milestone for both students and staff. It’s always a special occasion that reminds us how much we’ve accomplished, and how much more we have to look forward to.

Looking ahead to March, we’re gearing up for our Readathon fundraiser—and, hopefully, some warmer weather! For three weeks, we’ll be celebrating literacy and encouraging student reading, all while raising funds to bring even more literacy resources to Highland. Students can look forward to Read Across America activities, guest readers, special reading days, and Reading Bingo Week. You’ll be hearing from me throughout the fundraiser, and we hope to see fantastic participation from all our families!

In addition to our reading celebrations, there are a few other events happening for students in our school:

Grade 4 YMCA Safety Program: March 26th

Grade 3 Planet Museum: March 27th

Afterschool Mini Courses with Bedford Martial Arts: Starting March 31st (Sign-ups will be available the first week of March)

Thank you for your continued support and involvement. Together, we make Highland a wonderful place to learn and grow!
